I believe there are more than BP responsible. They have paid out millions to help and in my opinion are trying to show that there are more than one way to point the finger. I choose BP over other companies because they were a big part of helping people track their corbon footprints. I remember learing about it with my sister when we lived in England and was impressed that an oil company was so devoted to conservation and protection of the environment. They are paying for their part and have been for a long time and the bad laws made to allow this kind of disaster need to be addressed as well as other companies that are contracted. The standards need to be raised for everyone regarding inspections and following up. I do not agree with demonising one company for a problem cause by many people and governments. I personally have spent my life on or around the oceans or great lakes where I live now, and make sure they stay clean by teaching my kids and giving my time. When I lived in South Africa I helped rescue a penguin covered in oil and it was educational. If you really want to charge a criminal look at the cigarette butts in the ocean and start taxing them on each one found. There is NO reason those cannot be biodegradable. The importance of the trial in my opinion should be to make better and tighter laws preventing this from ever happening again.

I can control what I can control and nothing more. I can vote with my wallet. I can make sure that those who flout even the ludicrous environmental controls in place at the time of the BP perpetrated obscenity against nature will pay, and pay, and pay for their willful stupidity. I can keep reminding those who deny their own role in this obscenity against the planet and the future of mankind. I will never, ever, ever forget.
